Arriving at Santo Domingo Airport
One exit, one busy cerb, and one place to look for your name.

Arrival instructions, step by step
A single arrivals exit and a busy cerb. The important part is knowing where to stand.
The e-Ticket and immigration
The Dominican e-Ticket is free and filled online before you fly; have the QR ready. The tourist card is already included in almost every airline ticket.
Have your return ticket handy
Since 28 April 2023 the airline is required to check that every foreign passenger holds an onward or return ticket. Without one you can be refused entry, and the check happens at the counter, not on landing.
Flying in from Brazil or Venezuela? Yellow fever
The Dominican Republic requires an international vaccination certificate from anyone arriving from Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, and from every passenger coming from Venezuela. It has to be at least ten days old. Confirm with your airline before you fly.
Baggage reclaim and customs
Collect your bags and walk through customs. Checks are quick and routine.
Past the taxi and car hire desks
After customs there is a short corridor of taxi and car hire counters. Walk past them to the exit; your driver is outside.
Find the name board at the barrier
The arrivals cerb is busy. Your driver waits at the barrier outside the doors with an eTransfers name board, then walks you to the vehicle.
A prepaid SIM, if you want one
Claro and Altice have desks just after customs at fair prices. It is easier here than in the city.
Thirty minutes to the Colonial Zone
Boca Chica is fifteen minutes, the Colonial Zone and Piantini thirty to forty on the coast road, Juan Dolio about forty.
Meeting point by terminal
Your confirmation names your terminal. Here’s where we stand at each one.

What to watch for at Santo Domingo Airport
Licensed airport taxis have a counter inside. Anyone offering a “cheaper” lift at the barrier is not licensed and the price will move.
Driver name, photo and number plate are in MyTrip before you land. Our driver knows your name; you should not have to explain who you are.
The transfer is prepaid, tolls included. No driver of ours asks for toll money on the motorway.
Airport exchange rates are poor. Bank cash machines in the city give the real rate, and cards work everywhere in Piantini and the Colonial Zone.
What happens if your flight moves
- We track your flight numberFrom the moment you book. If the flight is retimed, we move the pick-up before you land.
- The driver waits, at no chargeSixty minutes after landing on international flights, thirty on domestic. Immigration queues never count against you.
- If you miss the flight altogetherSend us the new flight number. With Premium, changing the date or the time is free up to 12 hours before the original pick-up; with Economy it is your one included change, with 24 hours’ notice. Outside those windows, we move it subject to availability.
