What to expect
Xcaret is a park set between the jungle and the Caribbean Sea just outside Playa del Carmen. In a single day you can float through rivers that run underground and then wander through a living showcase of Mexican culture. With more than 50 attractions, come ready to walk and to get wet.
Most visitors start in the water: three underground rivers with cool, clear water, plus the inlet, natural pools and the beach. You get a safety bag for your belongings on the river ride, and life jackets and inner tubes are there so you can drift at your own pace.
Later, get to know the local wildlife at the aviary, the reef aquarium and the butterfly garden, then follow the rainforest trail, with sea turtles, flamingos, jaguars and spider monkeys in different corners of the park. Kids have their own area at Children's World.
Throughout the day you can catch the horse show, the Papantla Flyers and pre-Hispanic dances. As evening falls, the day wraps up with Xcaret México Espectacular, a musical journey through the country's history and traditions.

Transportation
Only with the “with transportation” options: round trip from your hotel or a meeting point in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya. On the official website it adds $32.40 per adult from Cancun or the Riviera Maya, and $23.40 from Playa del Carmen.
