What to expect
Xoxi Cancun is a Mexican party on the water: you board a brightly painted trajinera boat and cruise the canals at night while the music, the food and the company do the rest. You'll find it a short drive south of Cancun Airport, along the highway toward Playa del Carmen.
The evening kicks off on land with a welcome fair: fresh fruit waters, live mariachi, traditional games and a toast with Xorbito. Then you are assigned your boat and the ride begins, led by a host whose job is to make sure nobody stays in their seat.
For about three hours, live bands from different regions of Mexico take turns playing while you taste a selection of traditional dishes. The open bar includes tequila, beer, rum, vodka, fruit waters and soft drinks.
It is made for celebrating: birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette trips, friends' getaways or a different night out with family. If you come on your own, you will likely end up singing along with the group next to you.
