What to expect
The Xenotes Tour takes you into the jungle along the Cenote Route to discover four different cenotes in a single day, each with its own way to enjoy it. You travel in a small group with a certified guide who picks you up at your hotel and stays with you the whole way.
Each cenote is a different type: a cavern cenote you descend into by assisted rappel down to the blue water; an ancient one and an open one, where you zip-line and take on the jumps; and a semi-open cenote with crystal-clear water, perfect for kayaking and swimming to explore what lies beneath the surface.
Along the way, your guide shares Mayan stories and legends tied to these freshwater pools, which are part of a vast network of underground rivers. When you come out of the first cenote, hot drinks, coffee, chocolate and seasonal fruit are waiting for you.
The day wraps up with a jungle picnic featuring soup, cold cuts, cheeses, breads and salads to build your own plate, served with water, wine and beer. Gear for each activity, a towel and access to changing rooms and showers are included.
