This tour takes you from your hotel to Chichén Itzá, the great Mayan city of the Yucatán Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and named in 2007 as one of the New 7 Wonders. It is a full day to discover, with a certified guide, why this place still leaves visitors in awe.
At the archaeological site you walk among its most iconic buildings. El Castillo, also known as the Pyramid of Kukulcán, reflects in its 365 steps how much the Maya knew about mathematics and astronomy. You will also see the Ball Court with its echoing walls, the Sacred Cenote and the Observatory, while your guide tells the stories behind each structure.
After the tour comes a well-earned break: a stop at a cenote for a swim in cool fresh water, just right after the morning heat, followed by a buffet meal to recharge.
There are two ways to do it. With the Classic, you eat at the restaurant by the cenote. The Deluxe adds breakfast on board and ends with a Yucatecan buffet at the La Casona restaurant in Valladolid, a colorful colonial town.
