Gregorio Luperon International Airport

Arrival instructions, step by step

A small, relaxed terminal with one arrivals exit. Fifteen minutes from the aircraft to your vehicle on a normal day.

  1. The e-Ticket and immigration

The Dominican e-Ticket is free and filled online before you fly; have the QR ready. The tourist card is already included in almost every airline ticket.

  2. Have your return ticket handy

Since 28 April 2023 the airline is required to check that every foreign passenger holds an onward or return ticket. Without one you can be refused entry, and the check happens at the counter, not on landing.

  3. Flying in from Brazil or Venezuela? Yellow fever

The Dominican Republic requires an international vaccination certificate from anyone arriving from Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, and from every passenger coming from Venezuela. It has to be at least ten days old. Confirm with your airline before you fly.

  4. Baggage claim and customs

One hall, then customs. Checks are quick.

  5. Porters and helpers

Porters expect a tip; two or three dollars is plenty. Keep your own cart if you would rather not.

  6. Find the sign

Your driver waits outside the arrivals doors with an eTransfers sign. Photo and plate are in MyTrip before you land.

  7. Fifteen minutes to Sosua

Sosua is ten to fifteen minutes, Cabarete twenty, Playa Dorada and Puerto Plata town twenty-five to thirty.
