The Bahia Principe complex in Punta Cana is at Playa Arena Gorda, north of Bavaro, about 25 km from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ): 25 to 40 minutes by road, depending on traffic and which lobby you are going to. It holds six hotels — four for families and two adults-only — and they were renamed in recent years, so the name on your voucher may not match the sign at the gate. Book the transfer with the exact hotel name, not just “Bahia Principe.”

The route is short and straightforward: from the airport, north along the main tourist road past Bavaro to Arena Gorda. What adds time is not the highway but the arrival — immigration lines at PUJ and, at the other end, finding the right lobby inside a complex that has several.

They share a road entrance, but inside they are separate hotels with separate receptions. A driver told only “Bahia Principe” has to guess, and a wrong guess at midnight means dragging bags between lobbies. Put the full current name — and the old one in brackets, if that is what your booking says — on the transfer reservation.

If the flight or the bags are late
Flight monitoring sees the plane, not your suitcase. Report a missing bag to the airline before you leave the baggage area, then message the transfer company while you are still inside the terminal. Both, in that order.
