What is Cenotes Casa Tortuga?
It is a private park on the Jacinto Pat ejido, between Tulum and Akumal, with four cenotes linked by jungle trails: two caverns and two open cenotes. You don't explore on your own: the ticket includes a guided tour of about 1 hour 40 minutes, with a life jacket.
The cenotes are Campana, a semi-open cavern with stalactites and stalagmites; Wisho, with a cave passage where you see fossils and a bat colony; Dorca, reached on foot across a small mangrove on a wooden bridge; and Tres Zapotes, an open cenote over 100 meters long with a 10-foot (3 m) jump into 26 feet (8 m) of water.
On one stretch of the tour you swim from one cavern to the next under the rock. After the tour you can stay and swim at Tres Zapotes until 6:00 p.m. The park also has a zipline, kayaks, ATVs, restaurants and a bar.
Unlike other Tulum cenotes where you pay a separate entrance at each one, here you pay once for a guided loop of four. The trade-off: the tour sets the pace, so you can't linger between cenotes.

How to get to Cenotes Casa Tortuga
Casa Tortuga is about 6 miles (9 km) north of the Tulum ruins, roughly 15 minutes by car; it is about 40 minutes from Playa del Carmen and around 1 h 45 min from the Cancun Hotel Zone on Highway 307. The park has no shuttle and buses don't stop at the entrance; the budget option is a colectivo van from Tulum or Playa del Carmen, which drops you on the highway.
