At the southern tip of the Hotel Zone, Punta Nizuc is one of Cancun's favorite snorkeling spots. The water is shallow and sheltered, so first-timers and seasoned snorkelers alike can take it at an easy pace.
It all starts at Aquaworld on Kukulcan Boulevard, where your guide walks you through the basics and hands you your snorkel gear. A boat then takes you to a floating platform moored near the reef, where getting in and out of the water is simple, a real plus if you're traveling with kids.
Below the surface you'll find coral and bright tropical fish and, weather permitting, some of the 16 Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA) sculptures in the area, such as The Last Supper, The Garden of Hope or Time Bomb, plus recent works by Elier Amado Gil, an artist from the region.
Between swims, rest in the shade on the platform with a beer or soft drink, both included. Food isn't, so bring a snack along. Back on shore, lockers and showers make changing easy.
It's a great outing for families, couples and friends who can swim and want to see the reef without any fuss. Keep in mind that transportation isn't included and the reef conservation fee is paid at check-in. Arrive 30 minutes before your time slot and book your spot with us.
