Seeing Cancun from the air doesn't have to be complicated. The SkyRider is parasailing you enjoy sitting down: a reclining two-person seat that rises from the back deck of the boat and lands back on it when you're done, with no running start on the sand.
Before takeoff, the crew explains how it works and hands you a life jacket, which is mandatory and included. Then the line lets out and the seat climbs gradually until you're floating over Nichupte Lagoon, with the row of Hotel Zone resorts on one side and the blue Caribbean on the other.
Up there the noise stays below and the view takes over. The flight lasts about 10 minutes and the whole activity 30 to 45 minutes, with the staff keeping an eye on you from the boat. On the way down you can ask for a quick dip before you're back on deck.
Flyers must be 5 to 65 years old, with up to two people per flight, so it works well for couples, friends or an adult with a child. It isn't allowed during pregnancy or after drinking alcohol.
