What is Isla Mujeres Unlimited?

It is the classic all-inclusive catamaran day: light breakfast, snorkeling on a reef, a beach club with buffet and open bar, time at Playa Norte and a walk around downtown Isla Mujeres, with a party on board on the way back. Resellers use the name; the boat is run by a company with a marina at the Punta Sam ferry terminal.

Contoy Adventures, which sails from its marina at Punta Sam, lists this same format as "Isla Mujeres All-Inclusive": about 40 minutes of snorkeling at El Meco reef, around an hour at Playa Norte, an hour downtown and two hours at a beach club with lunch. Monday to Saturday it runs 9:30 am to 5:00 pm; on Sunday, 12:00 to 6:30 pm.

Some versions of the tour stop at the Icebar beach club in Sac Bajo, which has a bar made of ice. Before you pay, ask which beach club you are going to: it decides the food, what the open bar covers and how much beach time you get.

How to get to Isla Mujeres Unlimited

Punta Sam is on the north shore of Cancun, past Puerto Juarez: a 30 to 45 minute drive from the Hotel Zone and about 1 h 15 min from Playa del Carmen. The operator shuttle picks up at hotels between 7:00 and 8:20 am depending on the area.

With a private transfer you leave when it suits you, go straight to the marina, and on the way back, after a day with an open bar, nobody has to drive or wait for the shared shuttle.
