What is Captain Hook?
Captain Hook is a dinner-and-show cruise on replica Spanish galleons, run by Galeon Capitan Hook. It departs from the Captain Hook marina at km 5 of Kukulcan Blvd., at the Grand Oasis Palm Beach hotel.
During the cruise there are games, contests and dancing with the crew. After dark, The Original Pirate Battle begins: an enemy ship appears, the cannons fire and pirates jump from one ship to the other with swords. Fireworks follow the battle.
Every ticket includes the dinner you choose (chicken, vegetarian, New York strip, lobster tail or surf and turf), a buffet of sides, dessert and a domestic open bar with piña coladas, margaritas and draft beer.
Unlike a catamaran party, this is a family outing: kids of all ages are welcome, and there is a kids' buffet with pizza, hot dogs and nuggets, plus a treasure hunt and face painting.

Arrive 45 to 60 minutes early to check in at the box office and catch the pre-show on the dock.

How to get to Captain Hook
The dock is at km 5 of Kukulcan Blvd., at the start of the Hotel Zone: about 10 minutes from downtown Cancun or Punta Cancun, 20 to 30 minutes from hotels at km 15 to 20 and around 1 hour 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen. There is no on-site parking; the operator suggests the lot next door at the Teatro de Cancun.
The ship returns at 10:00 pm, with tired kids or after the open bar. With a round-trip private transfer you arrive in time for check-in and the driver waits for you when you get back; pricing is per vehicle, which works well for families and groups.
